This park is just south of Dallas, Texas. The main attraction is
Joe Pool Lake, a 7500 acre impoundment created by the U.S Army Corp of Engineers. The park features camping,
hiking trails, a swimming area, a lot of picnic tables and grilles, and if you want to go
camping there are hundreds of campsite.
This park is important for its preservation of increasingly threatened barrier island habitats. The main activities at this park are visiting the gulfshore beach (swimming, sunbathing, and surf fishing), birdwatching, and
camping.
